Mindlessly scrolling has to do with swiping and consuming content on social media and various websites without consciously knowing that you are doing it.
So many of us, do it, you go on your phone intending to reply a text and end up on it for hours. As much as we don’t like to admit it, this does have an impact of our well-being.
If you are looking to limit your screen time, but use that time for other equally interesting and exciting things. Let’s look at 5 hobbies to try instead of mindlessly scrolling.
1. Reading
Reading is important for several reasons such as increasing quality of sleep, improving stress, and helping with our mental health. A lot of people overlook the benefits of reading especially when they get older. There is also this notion that reading is for a certain type of ‘person’, which is certainly not true. Reading is for everyone; we all need to read.
Reading is my favourite hobby, as it relaxes my mind and allows me to focus on just one thing. I highly recommend reading if you want to move away from mindless scrolling.
2. Crocheting
Crocheting is an awesome practical skill to learn. It is one of the easiest hobbies to begin because you only need three items. Those three items are yam, crochet hooks, and scissors.
Once you have your supplies, you can teach yourself to crochet by following written and/or video tutorials. Crocheting you will find is a fulfilling skill to learn. At the end of it, you can end up being a professional at making scarves or a jumpers.
Just remember to start with something small and simple, then work up to larger, more intricate projects over time

Puzzles are one of the very best things to do when you don’t want to put much energy into an activity but are trying to resist the lure of mindless scrolling.
