Dean Village is a beautiful and historic village in Edinburgh. It is known for its charming atmosphere and proximity to the Water of Leith. It is one of the most picturesque places in Edinburgh, offering a fresh and peaceful feel of the city.
2. Look for the best views of Edinburgh Castle
There are many different views of Edinburgh castle. But, the most popular is The Vennel, a staircase hidden between a jeweler and ice cream shop. If you want excellent pictures of the castle, this place rewards you with breathtaking views.
3. Scott Monument along Princes Street.

The Scott monument stands along princess street, and is one of the most famous landmarks for tourists and locals. The Victorian Gothic monument was dedicated to the writer Sir Walter Scott.
If you are interested in climbing the monument it takes 5-10 minutes to climb all the stairs. It’s definitely worth the visit.
4. The Writers Museum
The writers museum celebrates the lives of three Scottish literature giants- Robert Burns, Sir Walter Scott and Robert Louis Stevenson. It is home to rare books and objects.
It is a free museum, and very easy to locate just off the Lawnmarket, the top part of Edinburgh’s historic Royal Mile, in Lady Stair’s Close.
5. St Giles Cathedral
St Giles’ Cathedral, or the High Kirk of Edinburgh, is a parish church of the Church of Scotland in the Old Town of Edinburgh. The church celebrated its 900th year in 2024, and has been the vocal point of historic and notable events in the 12th century.

Edinburgh is definitely worth visiting, there are so many things to do and relish in. These are my 5 favourite magical things to do in Edinburgh.
