1. Host a summer bake-off
The last time I attempted to bake was when I made banana bread which went horribly. So naturally, in my mind, the best way to redeem myself, is to have a summer bake-off with my friends. 2. Find inspiration on YouTube.
I recently went back to my roots, which is watching YouTube videos. I love watching lifestyle, book related, faith and travelling content. There is something comforting about watching an hour long ‘day in the life’ vlog. So, I recommend finding youtubers that you like to will inspire you.
3. Have a 90s movie night.
There is something about the 90s to early 00s that just invokes so much nostalgia. Even if you did not live through that period, nothing can beat a good ole 90s movie night. So if you are bored and at home, host a 90s movie night or curate a list of movies you can watch by yourself. My favourite 90s movies are but not limited to 10 Things I Hate About You, Pretty Woman, Love Jones and more.
4. Pick up a Summer Book to Read
I love reading so I always make sure to have a book to read. In summer, my priority genre are romances set in the summer time. There are many good book releases which you can read like Abby Jimenz’s Just for the Summer and Emily Henry’s Funny Story, both of which are highly rated.

7. Learn an Instrument
Learning an instrument when you are bored is both exciting and conducive as I would argue. I have been learning how to play the electric guitar whenever I can, and it has been thrilling. There are many resources online to teach you to play any and every instrument for free. As a beginner, you do not need to buy an expensive instrument. You can get affordable instruments online from places like (Facebook market and websites that sell second instruments.).
8. Learn How to Make a New Recipe
If you have been thinking about learning how to cook or make a new recipe, do it when you are bored. I can understand that making a meal when you are bored can be very daunting. But, if you plan it by finding recipes online or cookbooks, all you need to do is get the ingredients and start cooking.
9. Go For a Walk
We can all do with exercising more as it is important for overall well-being. I find that when I am stressed or bored going for a walk helps to clear my mind and be in nature. So, the next time you stuck at home and the weather is very sunny, go for a lovely walk.
