2025 is slowly (or quickly) approaching and I know I’m already thinking about my next getaway. There are so many places to visit in this world and it can be overwhelming to choose. Here are the top 10 Travel destinations for 2025.
Cappadocia, Turkey
I was fortunate enough to visit Cappadocia on my trip to Turkey a couple of years ago. I went on a tour whilst I was in Antalya. The tour allowed me to visit Cappadocia for 2 days. Whilst I was here I visited different caves and went on the famous hot air balloon which was spectacular. Unfortunately, the sunrise wasn’t as good others, but it was still amazing. I think everyone should go here and I’d recommend at least 4 days here. You can book to stay in a cave hotel, do the hot air balloon ride, go on a horse tour and so many other things. However, it is quite small so if you stay a week you may get a bit bored.
Lapland, Finland
Personally, Lapland has been on my bucket list for years. I’ve not yet had the pleasure of visiting, but it looks beautiful from what I’ve seen. It’s the perfect destination for the winter time. The snow sets perfectly, there’s the northern lights and you can go sledging. To me this is place is a winter wonderland. You should aim to go during winter time, but check the weather before going so you know how cold it may be.
Chamonix, France
Chamonix is a great place to visit if you want to go skiing or hiking. It is a beautiful place and has a small village to stay in. If you want to do either or, then you’ll need to check the weather before. Skiing season seems to be from December-March/April (although it’s best to check this). Hiking is better during summer and autumn times. I know that the ski lifts do close during off-peak seasons, so again, make sure you plan carefully depending on the time of year you go.
Dolomites, Italy
Now if you’re looking for a hiking destination with beautiful valleys and crystal-clear lakes, then the Dolomites are for you. The Dolomites, are an UNESCO World Heritage Site in northern Italy. This picture perfect mountain destination is great for outdoor enthusiasts who want to spend their time hiking and climbing. Depending on the weather there are also opportunities for skiing.
Cape Town, South Africa
Cape Town, known as the “Mother City” is the perfect city if you want natural beauty, history, and a vibrant culture. It has multiple famous landmarks such as Cape point and beautiful beaches. It is the perfect destination for people who love a bit of relaxation, adventure and history mixed into one. There are multiple vineyards to visit, colourful neighbourhoods and activities such as surfing and safaris to enjoy. There’s no doubt that you should try to visit the city at least once in your lifetime.
Japan
I’ve put the country Japan and not just a particular city because there are so many places in Japan to visit! Of course there are the popular areas such as Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto. However, a lot of people miss out on the countryside and the small islands that are great for a summer vacation. Japan has so much to offer and I’ve heard the food is incredible. A lot of research may need to be done before the trip and it’s definitely on a more spenny side of things, but I do think it should be on everyone’s list. I’d recommend a minimum of 2 weeks if you are thinking of going to more than one area.
Tuscany, Italy
This is a great place to visit during the spring/ beginning of summer! It is such a beautiful destination. Tuscany has a lot of towns to choose from, or if you’d rather, you can stay in Florence and do day tours. When I visited, I did a wine tasting tour around some of the vineyards. It was a beautiful experience and it allowed me to learn more about Tuscany and the people there.
Bali, Indonesia
I’ve heard a lot about Bali. It’s a famous spot for young backpackers due to its known affordable accommodation, party scene and beauty. However, Bali is more than just this. It is known as the “Island of the Gods,” and a tropical paradise it offers multiple stunning beaches, rice terraces and stunning temples. It appeals to those who want relaxation and exploration. In addition, there are activities for the water lovers out there, from surfing to diving, I’m sure you’ll find an activity to suit you. Be sure to check the best time to visit due to weather.
Peru
Peru has been on my bucket list for quite some time now. This is because of the beauty it possess. As a lover of hiking and great views, Peru is a must. It has places such as Machu Picchu and Vinicunca and rich culture to immerse yourself into.
Madeira, Portugal
I’ve saved the best for last in my opinion. Madeira is one of the most beautiful islands I’ve ever been to. Of course there are loads around the world, but Madeira is a bit different. It doesn’t just have the sea and some beaches, it also has mountains to climb, amazing sunsets, great people and beautiful landscapes. Everywhere you look there’s beauty to see. I’m not even exaggerating. You could spend weeks here exploring new places. If you can drive, they recommend you hire a car to explore, but just know that the roads are quite steep. Alternatively, you can book tours or bolts. I’d recommend going for at least 7 days, but if your budget allows, then definitely longer.
Hopefully these destinations live up to your expectations and remember to enjoy yourself 🙂
