Skin Care Routine

My skin is ever changing, as result of many factors such as the environment, hormones, and diet. Some of it is self inflicted like my need to try every product. In the past year what I’ve been treating is hyperpigmentation and dry skin. I have stubborn hyperpigmentation. If your skin is anything like mine. This is my updated skin care routine. I love skin care, so I’m always upgrading my products, this is what i have been using.

My skincare order: is Cleanser (Toner sometimes) Serum, Moisturizer and Sunscreen lots of it.

1. Cleanser

                         Aloe Vera Gel

I recently damaged my skin barrier as result of trying a new facial which was harsh on my skin. The best way to know that you have damaged your skin barrier is dryness, inflammation and itching. My skin was extremely dry and stinging every time I put products on. To heal this problem, I have been using Aloe Vera gel as a cleanser ( even though it isn’t one). Aloe Vera gel has properties that soothe and moisturize your skin. It is especially ideal for healing damaged skin, dry skin, minor burns and after sun exposure.

2. Serum

         Hyaluronic Acid

Serum: Hyaluronic Acid

For my serum i needed something that was light on the skin. I have been using hyaluronic acid from the Ordinary due to its added benefits. This serum can help reduce redness, dermatitis & wrinkles. In addition to this, it also helps to speed up wound healing to damaged skin in need of repair.

3. Moisturizer for Dry Skin

     Cetraben Cream, Aveeno Skin Relief

This is my favourite part of my skin care routine. Moisturise moisturise and oh, Moisturise. The first moisturiser I use is the Cetraben Cream perfect for relieving dry skin and eczema symptoms such red, itchy, chapped or inflamed skin. The second moisturiser that i use is Aveeno Skin Relief which caters specifically for dry skin by helping to restore the skin’s natural protective barrier.

4. Sunscreen

 Solero

I recently added sun screen to my skin care routine. I regret not wearing sun screen from a younger age. Most of it was ignorance to its effectiveness on all skin types. This has been the game changer for me.

I use the ultra Solero Sunscreen lotion developed for people prone to skin allergies. It helps protect the skin from burn and reduced long term sun damage.

O’L take away.

This is my skin care routine which I implemented recently, due to damaging my skin barrier. I have dry skin and hyperpigmentation so the products I use have to be hydrating and moisturising. This skin care routine will be perfect for you, if this is your skin type. Keep updated for more skin information.
