As valentines day draws closer, you may be looking for ways to top your last years gift. Or perhaps it is your first one and want to make it special. If you are looking to make it a memorable day, then why not spend it in the most romantic city in the world, Paris. It may seem excessive to some, but to me, it is a great idea. Personally, I would only go for a short amount of time. For example, 3 days, but if you wish you stay longer it is up to you. You could either plan to do it during the week so the trip falls on valentines day, or you could go for the weekend before or after. Either way, I’m sure you will have a good time. You may be thinking ‘What can I do in Paris for Valentines day?’. Here are several recommendations for you.

Hotels
The most romantic hotel you could possible book is one with a view of the Eiffel Tower right. There are several hotels you could book to get this view including the Résidence Charles Floquet and Hotel Marignan Champs-Elysées. Alternatively, you can book the TimHotel Tour Eiffel for a more budget friendly option (it’s the hotel I stayed in). Just make sure you book the junior suite as this is the room that provides the view of the Eiffel Tower.
Activities
There’s a variety of things to do in Paris for your valentines. Some are cheaper than others, some involve tours and others involve doing it alone.
Firstly, you can spend the day doing the more popular tourist activities, such as visiting the Eiffel Tower during the day, going to the Louvre Museum and walking by the river. You may need to book tickets in advance, but these are activities you can do during your own time. If the weather is nice, a lot of people sit down on the grass near the Eiffel Tower. This is something you could do. Get a blanket, some food, some drinks and have a cute breakfast, lunch or dinner. Alternatively, there are several restaurants located around the area for you to go into.
If you are lover of wine then doing a wine tasting tour can be a pretty romantic activity on valentines day. Most tours only last between 1-2 hours, so it gives you plenty of time to do some other tourist activities before or after. You could choose between a wine tasting tour in a wine cellar or you could do a wine and cheese tasting tour instead.
When I went, we decided to do a boat tour with a 3-course meal. There are quite a few to choose from, so make sure you check what is included in the price when you have a look. The boat trip took us around the river and showed us the Eiffel Tower at night. Make sure you wrap up warm as it can get a bit cold on the viewing deck. This is probably one of the most romantic things we did whilst in Paris. However, if this is not for you, I would recommend heading into the town and finding a restaurant close by to the Arc de Triomphe. Once you have finished your dinner, head down to see the site and take some pictures alongside everyone else.
These suggestions are for you to see famous views and stay in tourist areas. Some of the places may be more popular than others and may be on the higher end of peoples budgets. Of course, there are other hotels to stay in and activities to do. Make sure you read reviews and the itinerary before booking any tours!! Happy travelling 🙂
